About the event
The New York City Chapter of National Association of Black Military Women (NABMW) is inviting you to celebration Catholic Mass Honoring World War II Veteran Crescencia Garcia on her 102nd Birthday; Member of the WAC, 6888th only Female Unit.
Ms. Crescencia Garcia a resident of Yonkers who also served our country in WW II . Ms. Garcia was a member of the only female unit known as Women's Army Corps (WAC) 6888th.
"Our nation will always be grateful to the members of the Six Triple Eight (6888th) and now nearly 80 years after their service the nation as finally able to recognize these extraordinary women on the national stage"

On March 14, 2022, President Biden signed Public Law 117-97,
"To award a Congressional Gold medal to the members of the Women's Army Corps who were assigned to the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, known as the six triple Eight"
